The Himalayan Strawberry Festival celebrated at Chimney Strawberry Garden, Kurseong,

The Himalayan Strawberry Festival 2024 was celebrated at Kurseong, Chimney Strawberry Garden on 18th May 2024 (Saturday). The event was organized by Indian Organic Farming, Mango Tree Village Haat, HIMAL, Himalayan Organic Life, and ACT COFAM, in collaboration with communities from Siliguri, Kurseong, Darjeeling, and Kalimpong. The festival honored Himalayan strawberry growers and encouraged strawberry cultivation using organic and natural farming practices to promote sustainable livelihoods.

The celebration emphasized eco-friendly strawberry farming methods that protect the environment and ensure healthy produce. It also highlighted the creation of value-added strawberry products like Himalayan strawberry jam, strawberry juice, strawberry jellies, and preserves, providing farmers with new opportunities for entrepreneurship and additional income from their strawberry harvests.
The event brought together strawberry growers, experts, and tourists, offering a platform to exchange knowledge, showcase strawberry-based innovations, and strengthen local farming communities. It aimed to make strawberry cultivation more viable, sustainable, and profitable, while promoting strawberry-focused agrotourism in the region.
As part of the wider himalayan organic life mission, the festival supported environmentally conscious strawberry farming, empowered strawberry growers, and contributed to making the Darjeeling and Kalimpong hills economically sustainable through strawberry cultivation. The event was a meaningful celebration of strawberry farming, nature, and community spirit in the Himalayan region.

Reclaim Wellness with Himalayan Nettle Soup

From the High Hills of West Sikkim – Brought to You by Himalayan Organic Life

Nettle, Sisnu in local language often called a stinging plant, has been used for centuries in traditional Himalayan medicine. Our Himalayan Nettle Soup is crafted from wild nettle leaves, hand-harvested in the high-altitude villages of West Sikkim. These leaves are carefully dehydrated to lock in nutrients and flavor.

Rich in iron, magnesium, calcium, and vitamins A and C, nettle is a natural immune booster. Its anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties help reduce joint pain, cleanse the blood, and support healthy digestion. It’s especially beneficial for people with anemia, arthritis, or seasonal fatigue.

How to Prepare:

Boil 200 ml of water. Add 1-2 tablespoons of the dehydrated nettle soup mix. Let it simmer for 5–7 minutes. Add salt or spices as desired. You may even blend it for a smoother texture. Garnish with a dash of butter or ghee for a richer taste.

This comforting soup is not just food — it’s mountain medicine in a bowl. Pure, earthy, and revitalizing.

Whether you're exploring herbal nutrition, need a natural detox solution, or simply want to try something healing and Himalayan, this soup brings the soul of himalayan to your bowl.
